Celebrating the Heroes of Tomorrow

Every child has a unique voice and an individual hero’s journey. Let’s meet Aaliyah, Darrel, and Destiny, three inspiring young members of our community who are redefining what it means to be a hero:

Aaliyah is a singer, dancer, and aspiring actress. She draws inspiration from the DC Superhero Girls and the Teen Titans. Aaliyah aspires to tell stories that bring joy and foster self-love, much like her favorite shows.

Darrel Shakur, an aspiring engineer and a big brother, looks up to Spider-Man for his commitment to helping others. The world of comic book heroes, including the Avengers, Teen Titans, Batman, and Ironheart, fuels Darrel’s ambition.

Destiny infuses her passion for pop culture, including vines, movies, anime, and songs, into her everyday conversations. An ardent Bob Ross fan who dressed up as him for Halloween, Destiny is currently on a quest to collect anime socks.
